As we reported in a previous article, the world's leading chip maker Intel is currently planning the release of a couple of new processor models, part of the company's high-end Core i7 series. To be more specific, in the upcoming days, Chipzilla will roll out the Core i950 and the Core i7 975, designed to deliver enhanced performance and eventually replace the recently phased-out Core i7 940 and Core i7 965 models. It now appears that the aforementioned new CPUs have already made their way on the Internet, being listed on the web pages of certain online vendors. This basically confirms May 31 as the launch date of the new models.

According to a recent listing on this website, the boxed Core i7 Extreme 975 is already available in stock for a price tag of 'only' US$1079.87. Confirming previous rumors, the new model will be factory clocked at 3.33GHz, and will boast 8MB of cache memory and a speed of 6.4GT/s. The processor is compatible with LGA1366 sockets and will reportedly provide better overclocking capabilities.

Closely following the 975, the Core i7 950 has also been listed on another website, featuring a nearly confirmed clock speed of 3.06GHz, 8MB of cache and an Intel QPI speed of 4.8GT/s. Designed for mainstream and high-end performance, the box version of the upcoming processors is now available for pre-order for as little as US$649.00. Fortunately, this listing also confirms the official arrival date of the new models, namely on May 31, just hours away from the Computex 2009 kickoff.

Intel's latest processors are built on the performances achieved by the chip maker's currently-available Core i7 940 and 965. Like these models, the upcoming CPUs will be featured with support for the company's Turbo Boost and Hyper-Threading technologies, further maximizing the level of performance users will get to enjoy.
