Street Fighter is one of the most popular fighting franchises all over the world. From Japan to Africa, all it met was success, with many people still flocking to the arcades to play their favorite characters, like Ryu, Ken or Chun Li. Currently we need to get ready for two big titles coming from Capcom, the developers of the much loved fighting series of games. The first one, Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix, is going to bring us one of the most popular Street Fighter titles with high resolution sprites this fall. The second one, and also the most anticipated, is the first full 3D title in the franchise, Street Fighter IV.

Although the game has been already launched for Japanese arcades, Capcom was still reluctant to set a firm release date for other territories like the United States or Europe. This didn't go very well with US gamers, who resorted to importing the Japanese game boards just to get their hands on their favorite character. Capcom took notice of these actions and has now decided to announce, through the voice of the game producer, Yoshi Ono, that the game will be arriving to other countries this winter.

"There is no official North American arcade release, so we kind of feel bad that you guys have to wait for it. That's why we're trying to get it to you as soon as possible. Before the Japanese have a really long period of time to get really good at it first and totally [smash you] online…We don't want to start rumors that it's this year, but definitely this winter. At some point you'll be sitting in you winter coat looking at snow out the window…and right then we'll kind of heat you up a little with some hot street fighter action so look forward to that," said Ono in an interview with X-Play.

This is definitely good news for all the foreign Street Fighter fans who have been playing the trailers from the Tokyo Game Show over and over again in anticipation for the future launch. One thing's for sure – Capcom is definitely going to have some very big sales considering the huge number of fans the fighting franchise has in other territories except Japan. With the second Street Fighter movie in the works in Hollywood, the universe of the franchise is expanding even more. Until we can get an even firmer release date for this title, we can still enjoy some of the other games that are coming out this holiday season.
