Codemasters has just released the full list of details about Grid 2's multiplayer modes, including the different mechanics that are built into the racing title, while also posting a series of very impressive screenshots.

Grid 2 is out at the end of May and up until now developer Codemasters has offered quite a few details about the game's campaign and its different general mechanics.

Now, the studio has posted the very first details about the multiplayer mode in Grid 2, including a list of confirmed experiences, as well as plenty of details about the special mechanics that should prevent grieving and keep online races as fair as possible.

"Two player split-screen and 12-player online races across Grid 2’s diverse range of events are just the beginning," Codemasters said in a statement.

"An entirely separate multiplayer campaign challenges you to earn XP and cash to unlock and purchase cars and upgrades with each and every race, with player choice at the heart of player progression. Stamp your own identity online by customizing and modifying your car and experience a fair race every time with new anti-grieving techniques."

Just like previous games from Codemasters, Grid 2 has complete support for RaceNet, the online service that monitors statistics and can be used to track challenges, progress, and rival events.

Quite a lot of different types of races are possible in the game's online multiplayer, like Race (including LiveRoutes), Endurance, Drift, Touge, Checkpoint, Face Off, Time Attack, as well as Global Challenge events that include Overtake and Power Lap.
