Electronic Arts and Dark Horse Comics have confirmed that those who get digital copies of either the Art of the Mass Effect Universe book or the Mass Effect: Invasion series will receive free downloadable content for Mass Effect 3’s multiplayer mode.

Mass Effect 3 appeared last week and, alongside it, all sorts of other media arrived, including a special artbook and a comic book series from Dark Horse.

In order to get people interested in their digital editions, the two companies have kicked off a special promotion that rewards customers with a code to unlock a Reinforcement Pack for Mass Effect 3’s cooperative multiplayer mode.

Basically, if you get either the artbook or the Invasion comic book series, a code will be sent to the email address you registered at the Dark Horse website. This code can be redeemed either through EA’s Origin on the PC or through the Bioware Social Network for the PS3 or Xbox 360.

The actual codes will be sent out by March 23, according to the two companies.
