It’s been quite a while since we last pointed our readers to Apple’s Special Deals section, but that’s just to tell you nothing exciting was spotted during all this time. Apple isn’t featuring killer deals this time around either, but we couldn’t let this much time go by without directing your attention to the latest deals on Macintosh computers.

Although Apple is shaving just 200 bucks off the initial price for the current base configuration of an iMac, those who’ve been saving up cash with this system in mind may welcome the news. A Refurbished iMac 21.5-inch 3.06GHz Intel Core 2 Duo is now available for order for just $999. It features a 21.5-inch, LED-backlit, glossy widescreen display, 4GB of memory, a 500GB hard drive, it comes equipped with an 8x SuperDrive (DVD±R DL/DVD±RW/CD-RW) and NVIDIA GeForce 9400M graphics with 256MB of memory, as well as the ever-present, built-in iSight camera.

For $1,299, you can get the same iMac 21.5-inch 3.06GHz Intel Core 2 Duo with slightly better specs. Those include a 1TB hard drive, and ATI Radeon HD 4670 graphics with 256MB of memory. This configuration regularly costs $1,499, so the refurbished model is also $200 cheaper. Also worth noting is that Apple’s new, 21.5-inch iMac is issue free, as far as screen flickering and yellow tints go. So far, the 27-inch model appears to be the only SKU affected by the widely reported screen issues.
