With some help from the BT Baby Monitor 150

Baby monitors are becoming increasingly popular with young families, as they allow the users to keep an eye on their newborns even when they're not actually in the same room with them. And this is exactly the reason why the UK-based BT company has launched the BT Baby Monitor 150, which provides all the functions one might expect from an advanced baby monitor, but also some interesting extras.

Thus, as any such system, the Baby Monitor 150 is formed out of two separate units, a fixed one (installed in the baby's room) and a handheld one, carried around by the parents. Each of the two units has its own set of functions, but since the monitoring unit packs most of them, we'll start there.

Thus, the device provides a set of advanced features, as for example MP3 plug-in and integrated thermometer, DECT digital technology and even polyphonic lullabies, with fully adjustable volume and sensitivity. Moreover, the child monitoring unit sports a parent voice recording function, as well as a nightlight with adjustable brightness and an illuminated key zone.

The handheld (parent) unit works on rechargeable batteries and sports a sound level indicator LED array, a mute function, a vibrating alert and even a timer/alert system for reminding the young parents that their kid should be checked upon/fed/changed/administered his/her medicine, etc.

The system developed by BT also provides a high-definition sound system, so that the parents will be able to hear their children's crying and talk to them in a very clear voice. Moreover, the range of the system is quite wide, up to 300 meters outdoors and up to 50 meters indoors, which means that the users will be able to carry out multiple chores around the house while still keeping an "ear" on their babies.

The BT Baby Monitor 150 retails for around 150 US dollars, which is not exactly a very small price to pay for such a system, but it's worth it, taking into consideration just how useful this thing can be, especially over the first few months after the child's birth.
