On Thursday, the members of the Anonymous-affiliated M3du5a hacker collective breached the official website of Constantin Film, a German film production and distribution company based in Munich.

As a result of the breach, around two dozen usernames and passwords that protect the site’s backend, and the movie and budget databases have been leaked online.

In addition, the hackers leaked over 300 email addresses belonging to employees and partners, and documents containing information on movies.

The attack comes after German copyright protection group GVU shut down drei.bz, an illegal filesharing website.

Constantin Film confirmed that their website was hacked, but the company’s representatives told Hollywood Reporter that the documents stolen by the hacktivists were out of date and widely accessible to employees.

On the other hand, the clear-text passwords leaked by the hackers allow almost anyone to gain access to the studio’s databases.

On Wednesday, the hacker collective also reported taking down the website of Constantin with a distributed denial-of-service (DDOS) attack.
