14 DAY TRIAL // George Zimmerman's wife, Shellie is seeking a divorce from her husband following his acquittal in the Trayvon Martin trial.
According to ABC News, 26-year-old Shellie married Zimmerman in 2007. She is not currently working. She was planning to pursue nursing school before her husband's trial.
She has recently come forward to detail living in terror until Zimmerman was acquitted, hiding out in the woods in a trailer after receiving numerous death threats.
An affidavit reads that the couple have “separated on Aug. 13, 2013 and are not presently cohabiting as husband and wife. The marriage between the parties is irretrievably broken.”
Her living expenses are currently taken care of by her husband. He has given her $4,300 (€3,300) out of the Zimmerman Legal Defense Fund.
She is asking for an equal division of funds and custody of their two dogs.
