14 DAY TRIAL // George Clooney's wedding was the biggest social event on the weekend, although some would argue it's the biggest of the year, despite the fact that it comes soon after the wedding on Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie. The reason for that is because the Pitt-Jolie wedding was expected on one hand, and it was done in secrecy on the other.
Clooney, however, chose to go all out in a big bash in Venice that lasted all weekend and had lots of famous people gathering in the Italian city. After exchanging vows on Saturday and having a long night partying with friends, the couple stepped out for the first time as husband and wife.

George and his wife didn't look too worse for wear, considering they spent all night partying and dancing. The two emerged from their hotel and stepped onto a speedboat awaiting them to take the couple to a brunch with family and friends.
George was dressed in a gray suit, while Amal showed off her long legs in a white floral dress. Both wore sunglasses to hide the tired eyes, but that didn't stop paparazzi from snapping away furiously and the newlyweds who were all smiles.
Clooney's nuptials sent Venice into a frenzy, not all locals were happy
As the couple headed out on the waters of the canal, they were followed by a host of speedboats with paparazzi, while smaller boats with policemen struggled to keep them away from the famous pair and their entourage, packed full with security.
The Los Angeles Times claims that the wedding reception was a lavish affair, where waiters wore fezzes and served lobsters. The broom seemed to have a lot of jitters, as his hand shook badly when cutting the cake.
Their wedding was a star-studded affair, which included Man Damon and his wife Luciana Barroso, Anna Wintour, Rande Gerber, Cindy Crawford, Bill Murray, Emily Blunt and John Krasinski. The wedding was officiated by the former mayor of Rome, Walter Veltroni, who also happens to be Clooney's friend.
The local media was impressed with Amal's impeccable style, as well as her numerous dress changes. She was compared to style icons such as Audrey Hepburn and Jacqueline Onassis by the press, who kept reporting with due diligence on every new dress she wore.
Everyone benefited from the wedding, as Clooney is reported to have not shied away from the press during his stay at the hotel. On Friday morning when he had breakfast in the hotel's garden, he was closely followed by the press, and George indulged them all, even sending out a bottle of tequila to one journalist.
The locals, however, were less impressed. Gondoliers complained that the large surge in traffic on the canals due to the Clooney wedding, sent numerous waves on the city's narrow canals and made traffic impossible.
