Yes, even George Clooney had trouble with the in-laws, meaning that the rest of us, normal men, can feel better about ourselves in that respect. Because if a man like Clooney has to prove himself in order to convince his fiancée’s family that he's good enough for her, no other man in the world should feel embarrassed for being in the same position.

Radar reports that Clooney had his work cut out for him since Amal's family is one of the most respected and educated in their native Lebanon. Her father in particular, Ramzi Alamuddin, who happens to be fiercely protective of his accomplished daughter, took a lot of persuading.

It looks like Amal's family has a lot of pedigree and, naturally, they are very proud about that. They were afraid that once the affair was revealed in the press, the media would overlook Amal's accomplishments.

Says one source, “The family is extremely educated and takes pride in what they’ve accomplished in life, both in Lebanon and around the world. Amal’s grandmother is actually the first woman to graduate from the American University of Beirut; her great grandfather was one of the most successful and notable Druze [scholars] of the twentieth century and one of the biggest names in Arab world economics.”

“Amal’s mom and dad devoted their lives to providing the best education possible for their kids” the source goes on, explaining how they thought this would all be left out of the press when it was reported about Clooney's fiancée.

But after a little getting to know one another, we can now happily report that George managed to get on the family's good side with his charming nature, “Amal’s father Ramzi approves of George wholeheartedly. He clearly has the brains to go with his beauty, and he’s working hard to prove to them that he deserves a place in their respected family.”

In fact, they've gotten along so well, that Amal's father is now joking that “George will become known as Mr. Alamuddin instead of Amal being known as Mrs. Clooney!”

For his part, Clooney seems to be very enamored for the first, a fact which has gotten him out of his die-hard bachelor shell and back on the marrying market. The reason for that is because he loves not only her beauty, but also her mind.

The source claims that he's also very sure the 36-year-old lawyer “is not a gold digger. She has her own money and things going on, and George has told people that’s why he knows he can trust her and wants to be with her. She isn’t going to be arranging paparazzi photos like some of his past girlfriends have done.”
