General Motors is a company on the right way to sustainability, due to its recent partnership with Envision Solar, an innovative enterprise that continues improving the overall infrastructure for electric vehicles. A highly efficient and earth-friendly Solar Tree system is now installed at GM’s Company Vehicle Operations facility, located in Warren, Michigan.

The Solar Tree structure captures sunlight during the day and can offer up to 25% more solar power than its competitors, the already popular solar panels. Representatives from Envision Solar say their product will provide up to 30,000 kilowatt hours of clean energy within an entire year.

It describes a safe, clean way of recharging electric cars and it counts as a major step towards a more eco-conscious attitude for all clients and for major players in the auto industry.

The manufacturers of Solar Tree think they have come up with the most eco-friendly structures that shade vehicles from the sun, while relying on renewables to provide clean, green power. It is a great finding which reduces the amount of CO2 emissions launched in the atmosphere, while also innovating the entire infrastructure of electric vehicles.

The structure is big enough to shade six classic parking spaces. Also, it is not a common passive, decorative construction since the officials behind this project say that, once implemented, it offers enough alternative energy to power up to six electric vehicles every day, making their owners truly eco-conscious.

The system supports a variety of module types and it can be adapted to the existing structures or new facilities. Its manufacturers can guarantee that their product is efficient, due to its 15° tilting that improves its design, as well as its energy production, shade and requires minimal maintenance.

The great news is that almost every car owner can benefit from its long list of advantages, since it can be shipped worldwide.

Envision Solar officials declare that their innovative product represents a smart, cost-effective correlation between amazing design, great functioning and sustainability.

“As such they [Solar Tree structures] are the perfect visible embodiment of GM and its dealerships commitment to the environment and the future of electric and other highly efficient vehicles. We look forward to installing many more of our iconic tracking Solar Tree structures for GM in the coming months,” stated Desmond Wheatley, President and CEO of Envision Solar.
