Gears of War 3 has just received its first concrete story trailer, complete with gameplay sequences and nods to the campaign that will see protagonist Marcus Fenix and his fellow Delta Squad teammates try to finish the battle against the alien Locust.

Gears of War 3 just saw its multiplayer beta stage wrap up at the beginning of the month, so, as you can imagine, Epic Games, the title's developer, and Microsoft, its publisher, have tried to keep fans hooked on the experience by releasing the first campaign trailer.

Titled Brothers to the End and with a very special soundtrack featuring Black Sabbath's War Pigs, the video does a fine job of highlighting what we'll see during the story of Gears of War 3.

Right at the beginning, we finally get to see the father of protagonist Marcus Fenix, Adam, who seems to be alive and kicking, even if he was presumed dead in the first two titles.

He will play a huge role in the battle between the COG (Coalition of Ordered Governments) aka humanity, and the alien Locust race, which is currently divided into the regular Locust and the Lambent, a splinter faction that has seen serious mutations.

Besides Marcus' father, we also get to check out already established characters like Dominic, Anya or Cole.

New enemies are also showcased, with some all-new creatures appearing, while various Lambent mutations on already known monsters, like Berserkers or Brumaks, are also presented to the world.

The whole video definitely amps up the fact that Gears of War 3 marks the end of the current trilogy of titles, aiming to finally resolve the war between humanity and the Locust.

This doesn't mean it's the end of the franchise, as Epic Games highlighted on several occasions that the series can continue because there are plenty of stories left to be told.
