A gay rights non-profit have set up a location across the street from a Westboro Baptist church in Topeka, Kansas.

To protest against the religious organization's now-infamous anti-gay policy, 31-year-old founder Aaron Jackson was set on buying a house across the street from the church. He didn't get the house he wanted, but he did manage to find one almost next to it.

Jackson paid $81,000 (€62,600) to have a chance to paint a gay pride rainbow on his home, for all Westboro members to see. He figures that, since the group relies on publicity, his home will show up in all shots and news coverage featuring their Topeka location.

"Instead of millions of children around the world getting this hate message, they're going to see this message of compassion and love," he tells Gawker.
