Even if it isn't the season for a proper business dedicated product launch, as all the man do business on the beach now, Gateway insisted on releasing its full-featured and really innovative, as you will see, computing system.

Gateway's brand new professional desktop E-Series made its debut with the E-6610, a workstation designed for business environments that require enhanced graphics capabilities for professional 3D applications such as mechanical computer-aided design, digital content creation, video editing and visualization applications.

"The Gateway E-6610 is designed as a maximum performance desktop with workstation configurability," said Marc Demars, Gateway senior director, professional desktops and displays. "Complementing these high-end features is BTX technology boasting an ultra quiet dual fan cooling system for improved reliability, making it one of the coolest running PCs available."

I'll give you first the innovations brought by the Gateway's computer and their benefits for the users. The E-6610 features high-capacity SATA II hard drives (supporting RAID 0, 1 or 5) enabling therefore the users to add multiple hard drives for an increased performance or enhanced data protection. Moreover, you will benefit from a wide hard drive configurations range of 80GB to 500GB.

But Gateway's new desktop can be configured with up to 4GB of DDR2 Error Correcting Code (ECC) memory, which includes special circuitry to test and fix the accuracy of data as it passes in and out of memory. That is a pretty new feature in the computing segment.

The Gateway E-6610 boasts a wide range of high-performance technologies partially delivered by Intel's latest Core 2 Duo processors, but it also features NVidia Quadro FX 550 OpenGL graphics card in order to be a viable solution for the software developers, architects and CAD/CAM engineers which can now use complex 3D graphics on this system.
