And suggests similar existing third-party solutions

Even if this advice is meant to be taken into consideration mainly by companies, it still represents an important marker for Vista, the long awaited operating system from Microsoft. Gartner recently published a piece of analysis which recommends all companies to wait until 2008 before adopting the new Vista system.

The report states that most of the improvements in this new product, which is set to be launched sometime next year, are already available as third party products.

Obviously, Vista will offer improvements and it will evolve greatly from the present XP edition, but it is still considered to wait and settle for what XP can offer and install other products that match Vista's possibilities. The report highlights a few reasons why one should wait before upgrading, one if these reasons is the fact that Internet Explorer 7 is presented as a much safer browser than before, but many of its security features will be supported only by Vista. Together, the two products will indeed offer great security than XP and Service Pack 2.

The desktop search capabilities that Vista will implement are nothing new since users already have a hard time deciding which search tool is better to suit their needs.
