Mobile game publisher Gameloft is getting ready to upgrade the experience that Android users receive from its titles, courtesy of support for a so-called “immersive mode.”

Apparently, the company has already started to add the feature to its Android games, and Asphalt 8: Airborne will be one of the first to receive it.

According to a recent article on PhoneArena, the company is on track to make the features available in a variety of popular Android titles before the end of February.

The list of games that have been updated to enjoy support for immersive mode, or will be updated soon, also includes Blitz Brigade, Dungeon Hunter 4, Gangstar 4, GT Racing 2, Heroes of O&C, Order & Chaos, Order & Chaos Duels, Six Guns, and Total Conquest.

With the aforementioned immersive mode available, users will be able to enjoy a true full screen experience when playing one of the aforementioned games.

The feature will have the on-screen buttons on Android devices disappear in the same manner they do when watching a video.

At the moment, said buttons are only blacked out, but are still on the screen, which means that they take up space that could otherwise be used for the game itself.

Moreover, as PhoneArena notes, there is the possibility that users would actually quit the game through accidentally taping on the blacked buttons. However, the new feature will change all that.

For the time being, the company is planning the addition of support for the aforementioned immersive mode only to high-profile Gameloft titles in the next several weeks.

However, chances are that other games in the company’s lineup will also enjoy the enhancement, though no specific info on any of them has been provided as of now. More on this will certainly arrive soon, so keep an eye on this space.
