One of the leading mobile video games developer suffered a security breach and Gameloft Live player accounts were affected.

According to Pocket Gamer, the official forums of the Order and Chaos Online game have been filled with complaints regarding the issue coming from members.

“The Android and FaceBook version suffers from the same issue too. People are getting hacked on the FaceBook version,” wrote an account holder who plays the game on iOS.

Gameloft promised to look into the situation, shortly after the incident giving a statement for CNET in which they claimed to have closed the web version of Gameloft Live to prevent further incidents.

"Gameloft live Web version had suffered from a security issue. About 100 users saw their accounts impacted by this problem. And among those, there are players of Order and Chaos, whose accounts have been affected,” revealed a company representative.

“All users who have contacted us have been re-credited to their original account's situation. As less than 1 percent of Gameloft Live users accessed Gameloft Live through the Web version, we decided to close the web version of Gameloft Live.“

“All users who have contacted us saw their account situation restored. It is a priority for us to keep players' data protected,” he concluded.

Their Order and Chaos customers however are not happy with these answers, many believing that it's all a PR stunt meant to shift their attention from the real issue towards Gameloft Live.

“What they don't say is that their poor programming allows unencrypted user passwords and ID's to pass between in game characters which can be easily picked up by packet sniffer software. What they don't say is that they have failed to fix this,” wrote a member in reply to the statement.

“What they don't say is that there are hundreds if not thousands of O&C accounts affected....still affected now. What they don't say is that they have failed to alert the community to the problem as soon as they were made aware of it....over a week ago....and still haven't officially alerted us to it yet!”

Most fear that what they've worked for might end up in the hands of hackers, the company's simple answers not bringing much comfort.
