Gameloft off to a great start with iPhone gaming

An official report reveals that not only has Gameloft's Platinum Sudoku been selected by editors as Game of the Year, but that the developing company now ranks as the top iPhone / iPod game developer, based on readers' feedback.

Gameloft was selected by the editors and readers of iLounge as the "iPod and iPhone Game Developer of the Year" for the remarkable work it has done with iPod and iPhone game titles. Gameloft's Platinum Sudoku was the editor's pick as "Game of the Year" for iPhone and iPod touch.

This was the inaugural year for Reader's Choice Awards (in which thousands of users voted online), with winners being announced in the Buyers' Guide on October 31, 2008.

Gameloft is a renowned publisher and developer of mobile video games headquartered in France, with offices all around the world. The company's focus is to create games for mobile phones equipped with Java, BREW and Symbian OS, as well as the N-Gage platform. Earlier this year, Apple started offering means (the iPhone SDK and the App Store) so that developers such as Gameloft could to tap into the iPhone's gaming potential. Gameloft also develops games for dedicated games consoles such as the Nintendo DS, PlayStation Portable, Wii and Xbox 360, as well as the iPod and Windows PCs. The company plans to roll out some 15 iPhone / iPod titles by the end of the year.
