And a snooker game

Gamecock Media Group announces it is establishing a new game brand, Upshot, which will begin its publishing activity this fall.

The Gamecock brand is said to be focusing now on hardcore games, like the upcoming Legendary, trying to push the envelope in both graphics and in gameplay through the games that it publishes. The Upshot brand will focus on attracting a wide audience by releasing casual games, which are easy to pick up and play and provide quick and clean fun.

So far, Gamecock has not enjoyed high critical or financial success with their games and targeting a larger audience with a casual games division seems like a logical thing to do for a company in their situation.

American Pool Deluxe is the first game that will come out under the new brand. It has been developed for the Nintendo Wii and will be launched on November 18. It will rely on the motion control incorporated in the Wiimote to master the power and the direction of the cue in a variety of games, from the classic 8 ball game to snooker tricks.

The game offers you the possibility to play a host of trick shot challenges, go for some head to head multiplayer or enter a tournament mode where various pool champions from across the world will challenge you to matches that increase in difficulty. One of the highlights of the game will be that three commentators will analyze the shots you make as you look around for the best position.

Upshot is planning to release an accessory called the RealMotion Pool Cue that will work in conjunction with American Pool Deluxe. The peripheral is designed to create the look and feel of a billiard cue while using the accelerometer incorporated in the Wiimote.
