British actor Clive Mantle, whom fans will surely recognize from the BBC drama “Casualty” and the HBO hit series “Game of Thrones,” has been injured in a vicious attack in a hotel over a complaint over the level of noise, it has emerged.

The attack occurred at the Forster Street hotel, the actor’s publicist tells BBC.

According to initial reports, it seems that Mantle went over to another room to ask the people to try and make less noise, which is when he was practically jumped.

The attacker bit off part of his ear, the publicist explains. Luckily, an ambulance arrived in due time and doctors could sew it back on.

“A 32-year-old man from Hamilton in South Lanarkshire has been charged with wounding with intent. He will appear before magistrates next month following the attack in the early hours of Sunday,” the BBC reports.

The actor is now in hospital, still in shock but recovering.

“He is very shaken and shocked by what has happened, you don't expect this kind of thing to happen in a hotel,” Mantle’s publicist says for the same media outlet.

“The part of the ear that was bitten off was found and sewn back on. Mr. Mantle said the police, ambulance and hospital staff were amazing,” the rep adds.

Police have confirmed the attack but would not release more details about the case as this is an ongoing investigation.

However, the BBC has learned that two other men have also been arrested in connection to the attack: one of them is out on bail, while the other has been released without charges.

Mantle is now performing in the play “The Ladykillers.” A spokesperson for the production says they don’t know yet when he’ll be back on stage because of the incident, but they’re hoping for a speedy recovery.
