Though he once said he would not be coming out with a new album after his 2008 “LAX” and that he’d retire for good from making music, rapper Game has had a change of heart, as fans must already know. A new album from him is scheduled for release on August 24, which means fans have only so little to wait for it. In the meantime, though, Game has another treat for his fans: a mixtape that they can download free of charge.

As All Hip Hop can confirm, the mixtape, called “Brake Lights,” features all the heavyweights on the scene right now, including Busta Rhymes, Dr. Dre, Akon, Nas and, of course, DJ Skee, who is the one who made the tape possible, together with Game himself. The rapper also confirmed on his Twitter a few hours ago that he’d be dropping the mixtape soon and that all fans should be able to listen to it by simply downloading it off the Internet, free of charge.

“Compton, California rapper Game is planning to release his new mixtape Brake Lights at 12:00 AM. According to Game, he is dropping the mixtape to appease his fans as he retools his highly anticipated fourth official release, the R.E.D. Album. ‘Brake Lights is an appetizer to the R.E.D. Album. I know a lot of people been waiting on R.E.D., so I wanted to put out something to hold my fans over, while I finish up my album,’ Game told All Hip Hop in a statement,” the aforementioned music-oriented e-zine writes.

“Brake Lights, which was mixed by DJ Skee, will feature production by frequent collaborators Cool & Dre, as well as DJ Toomp, JR Rotem and Rich Skillz. Guests appearances by Rick Ross, Busta Rhymes & Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Shawty Lo, Waka Flocka Flame, Robin Thicke, Akon & Nas and others,” All Hip Hop further informs. Useless to say, initial reaction to “Brake Lights” has been positively amazing, with many fans saying Game is bound to make music history again once his “R.E.D. Album” is out.

For a taste of the mixtape, All Hip Hop offers some of the tracks for download. However, you can find the entire album on XXL Magazine, or here. Download and enjoy.
