Samsung's new Galaxy Tab, the first Android-based Tablet PC from the South Korean mobile phone maker, comes with a SRS 5.1 Mobile surround sound solution inside, SRS Labs announced. According to the company, the inclusion of this solution within Galaxy Tab offers great multimedia capabilities to end users.

The SRS 5.1 Mobile solution inside Galaxy Tab was also present on the Galaxy S smartphones from Samsung, including the Captivate, Epic, Fascinate and Vibrant devices.

The music and video players on the aforementioned Android-based handsets came with SRS 5.1 Mobile, turning the phones in actual multimedia powerhouses.

With SRS 5.1 Mobile on Galaxy Tab, users can enjoy a wide range of features, including:

- Creates an accurate 5.1 virtual surround sound experience over any stereo headphones - Utilizes SRS Circle Surround decoder to generate the highest quality surround sound - placing left, right, center, surround left and surround right speakers accurately around the listener's head - SRS Dialog Clarity boosts the frequency range of the human voice in a way that lifts the dialog above the audio effects, so you can clearly hear every word that's being spoken - Improves overall bass response of the headphones - SRS WOW HD improves the dynamic audio performance of both compressed and uncompressed audio, by expanding the size of the audio image

According to Allen H. Gharapetian, Vice President of Marketing for SRS Labs, the company's solution lines up pretty well against other high-end multimedia features that Samsung packed inside its Galaxy Tab and Galaxy S smartphones.

“Having SRS 5.1 Mobile embedded within Samsung's Galaxy Tab and Galaxy S phones not only completes the multimedia experience provided by these devices, but brings greater life, realism and vocal clarity to these products,” Allen H. Gharapetian stated.

Samsung Mobile too sees the combination between SRS's solution and its devices as a great option for all end users out there.

“Time and again, SRS has proven to Samsung that SRS sound and voice solutions are designed to deliver superior performance and allow for effortless integration within our product lines,” said David (HM) Noh, Vice President of R & D planning and partnership management from Samsung Mobile Communications.
