South Korean mobile phone maker Samsung Electornics announced officially last month the launch of its first tablet PC running under Google's Android operating system, namely the Galaxy Tab, and today announced that the device would land in the US via one more wireless carrier, US Cellular.

Unfortunately, no specific info on the price tag and availability date for the slate was unveiled, but we might expect for them to be announced officially in the near future.

With Galaxy Tab, users can enjoy a great mobile entertainment experience while on the go, while carrying around a device that is only 12 millimeters thin, and which weighs only 13 ounces.

Moreover, the slate comes with a large 7-inch touchscreen display, complemented by a 1GHz Hummingbird Application processor with support for 3D graphics and for smooth Web browsing.

The specifications list of Galaxy Tab also shows a 3-megapixel rear-facing photo snapper, complemented by a 1.3 megapixel camera on the front for video recording.

On top of that, the tablet PC comes with Android 2.2 Froyo on board, with support for Adobe Flash Player 10.1 and for a wide range of services and applications.

We should also note that the new device comes with Wi-Fi connectivity (802.11 b/g/n) and Wireless Hotspot support, as well as with Bluetooth capabilities, and support for 3G networks.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab tablet PC also comes with support for Google Maps Navigation (Beta) and Google Goggles, as well as with Google Calendar, social networking, e-mail, instant messaging, and more.
