There have been many rumors about Samsung's financial troubles, which are related to the low sales of the company's current flagship smartphones, Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge.

Many analysts and research companies claim Samsung's business is about to “implode” to the Galaxy S6 sales not meeting the company's expectations.

No Samsung official offered to comment on these claims, so the news about the South Korean company's downfall poured in, the more people were convinced that this might indeed be true.

Well, it looks like a Samsung exec has decided to break the silence on the matter, but under the protection of anonymity.

The spokesperson is cited by Korea Times as saying that “sales of the S6 and S6 Edge are meeting our internal target. S6 sales will clearly be higher than those of the S5. Samsung will aggressively promote sales in our target markets.”

According to a report by CounterPoint Research, the company has sold no less than 6.1 million Samsung Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge units in April alone and expects to hit 50M by the end of the year.

The company might have shipped more than 15 million units by now

This means that Samsung should be selling no less than 305,000 Samsung Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge units every day from the moment they were released on the market.

That's way more than Samsung's previous flagship smartphones, which sold 124,000 Galaxy S5 units and 241,000 Galaxy S4 smartphones per day.

If the numbers are accurate, Samsung might have shipped more than 15 million Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge units by now.

The information seems to be confirmed by Samsung Electronics Corporate Affairs President Park Sang-jin who was quoted by the Korean media as saying that “you have to wait and see; however, the S6 and S6 edge sales will be far higher than those of the S5.”

Anyway, we will surely get more details on Galaxy S6's sales very soon since Samsung is expected to unveil the figures at its investor relations forum on June 3.
