The smartphone is expected to arrive on shelves in April

Samsung’s Galaxy S5 went official only last week, but it appears to have already managed to conquer users’ hearts, at least this is what the latest reports on the matter suggest.

The mobile phone will arrive on shelves on April 11, but wireless carriers and retailers around the world are already taking pre-orders for it, and some claim great interest in the phone.

One of them would be T-Mobile USA, which has received over 300,000 pre-registrations for the smartphone in about 10 days, as a recent tweet from Des Smith reads.

Last week, the company announced that it had received over 100,000 pre-registrations for the handset in the first two days after kicking them off, and it seems that even more users are interested in the phone.

Of course, as TalkAndroid notes, this does not mean that all these users will actually purchase the phone, as pre-registrations are not pre-orders, but there is a chance than many of them will actually grab the phone once it becomes available.

One thing that is certain, however, is the fact that it does not come too much as a surprise that Galaxy S5 is capable of appealing to users.

After all, the phone was announced with a great deal of enhancements over last year’s Samsung Galaxy S4 flagship device, as well as with design changes and increased performance capabilities.

The handset comes with a 5.1-inch Super AMOLED touchscreen display that can deliver a full HD (1080 x 1920 pixels) resolution, while being powered by a 2.5GHz quad-core Snapdragon 801 processor.

Moreover, Samsung packed the new mobile phone with a 2GB of RAM and 16/32GB of internal memory, as well as with a microSD memory card slot for expansion purposes (with support for up to 128GB of additional storage space).

On the back, it features a 16-megapixel camera with LED flash, capable of recording videos in 4K resolution, complemented by a 2 MP front camera for making video calls while on the go.

Samsung Galaxy S5 also comes to the market with LTE Cat 4 connectivity packed inside, as well as with HSDPA, 42.2 Mbps; HSUPA, 5.76 Mbps, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi Direct, and Wi-Fi hotspot.

A built-in GPS receiver was also included in the package, along with the usual set of sensors. The phone is powered by a 2800mAh battery that can deliver up to 21 hours of talk time, or up to 390 hours of standby time.

Running under Android 4.4.2 KitKat, the new flagship smartphone also comes with a series of exclusive apps and features from Samsung themselves. It will be released in four color versions, namely Black, Blue, Gold, and White.
