March 14 is a day that many enthusiasts are eagerly waiting for, given that Samsung is set to make its next Galaxy smartphone official on that day, and some more info on what the smartphone could pack in terms of features and capabilities has emerged online.

Apparently, the handset will indeed have floating touch technology included in the package, just as some of the previous reports on the matter suggested.

Dubbed Galaxy S IV, the device will also include Smart Scroll and Smart Pause capabilities recently, so that users be able to scroll on pages without having to touch the display, as unveiled only recently.

Furthermore, a recent article on SamMobile suggests that Samsung would aim at packing the smartphone with a new type of display, one that would be far more efficient than current panels.

The screen will still be AMOLED, but will use a new technology called “green PHOLED,” the news site notes. Courtesy of that, it should prove 25 percent more efficient than other screens, it seems.

The smartphone will still boast a full HD resolution, but it should be able to provide users with longer battery life courtesy of this technology.

Galaxy S IV is expected to land on shelves with Android 4.2.1 Jelly Bean loaded on it, though it should receive an upgrade to Android 4.2.2 soon after launch, SamMobile claims.

The rumored specs list of this device also includes an 8-core processor, 2GB of RAM, a 13-megapixel photo snapper on the back, and a new version of Samsung’s Nature UX loaded on top of Android.

Apparently, Samsung has been testing various screen / processor configurations for the device, and might also release a version of the device with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 processor inside, and with SuperLCD3 screen.

However, specific details on the matter will be unveiled only next week, when Samsung makes the smartphone official, so stay tuned for additional info on it.
