Mobile phone users interested in the purchase of a new smartphone running under Google’s Android operating system will certainly want to check on the offer that Amazon Wireless currently has for them on the Galaxy S III smartphone.

Made available in the United States this summer, the handset is considered the best Android smartphone to date, and can now be purchased on contract with all major carriers in the country, as well as via local operators.

At Amazon, the smartphone is now available for only $99.99 (€76) with the signing of a contract agreement with either Sprint or Verizon. The AT&T model is currently available at only $118.99 (€91) on contract.

The phone has seen some other price cuts as well recently, but the new one appears to be the steepest of them all, not to mention that it involves models sold at three different carriers in the country.

As Phandroid notes, the promotion is available for both the Blue and White versions of the mobile phone, yet no info on how long the deal will be available has been provided as of yet.

One thing that is certain is that all those who choose to make a purchase will receive a great device, capable of an appealing visual experience courtesy of its 4.8-inch Super AMOLED HD touchscreen display.

The smartphone was launched with a 1.5 GHz dual-core Snapdragon processor inside, as well as with an 8-megapixel photo snapper on the back, capable of recording videos in full HD.

The specifications list of this device also includes 16 GB of internal memory, microSD card slot to expand it further, 3G/4G LTE connectivity, front camera for making video calls, Wi-Fi + Bluetooth 4.0, NFC, GPS, and the usual set of sensors.

The downside is that Galaxy S III runs under Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, and that it will receive an update to Jelly Bean only in the coming months, according to Samsung. Some suggest that the company will actually push the update back to 2013.
