South Korean mobile phone maker Samsung Electronics has just announced the upcoming availability of its high-end Samsung Galaxy S II smartphone on the market in India.

The new device should hit shelves in the country starting with June 3rd, on the airwaves of Vodafone. The carrier would have it on pre-order tomorrow.

Samsung also unveiled that the Galaxy S II smartphone would go for sale nationwide in India on June 9th, as Vodafone's exclusivity on the device would end after only a week.

The handset would sport a price tag of Rs. 32,890 when made available. Those who would like to pre-order it from Vodafone would be able to do so by paying Rs. 1,000, a post on Samsung Hub reads.

The Samsung Galaxy S II smartphone was made official in February during the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain, but arrived on shelves only in late April.

Samsung delayed the phone's release to enhances its capabilities through bumping the speed of its dual-core application processor from 1GHz to up to 1.2GHz.

In addition to the fast CPU, the smartphone includes 1GB of RAM, along with a 4.3-inch Super AMOLED Plus touchscreen display.

Moreover, it comes with an 8-megapixel photo snapper on the back, with 1080p HD video recording capabilities, and with a 2-megapixel camera on the front, for video chatting.

The specifications list of the new device would also include Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n and Bluetooth 3.0 connectivity options, as well as support for HSPA+ networks.

The mobile phone comes with 16GB of internal memory, complemented by a microSD memory card slot with support for up to 32GB of additional storage space.

It also comes with GPS receiver, support for various Google Mobile Services, and support for a wide range of applications that can be downloaded via the Android Market.

The Samsung Galaxy S II runs under Google's Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating system, with Samsung's own TouchWiz UI 4.0 on top of it.
