The two LTE-capable smartphones could be launched very soon

Australian wireless carrier Telstra is gearing up for the release of new smartphones running under Google’s Android operating system, two of which are coming from Samsung.

These handsets, the Samsung Galaxy S II 4G and Galaxy Note, have been already spotted in Telstra’s internal system, which suggests that their availability might not be far at all.

These handsets have been long rumored to be on their way to Telstra’s 4G LTE network, and it appears that the carrier is making the final preparations for their release.

However, as Ausdroid notes in a recent article, the fact that they appeared in Telstra’s internals (Siebel) does not necessarily prove that they are meant for a fast release. Some of the phones that have been spotted there have never made it to shelves at the carrier.

However, reports on Samsung Galaxy S II 4G and Samsung Galaxy Note dummy units being delivered to Telstra locations have already emerged. This alone is enough of a proof that the wireless operator does have plans to make the phones available soon.

On top of that, the news site notes that the wireless services provider is also receiving Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 4G dummy units, and that it might have the tablet PC available on shelves very soon as well.

For the time being, however, Telstra hasn’t unveiled specific plans on making these LTE-capable devices available for purchase on its network.

Nevertheless, Vodafone confirmed on Tuesday that it would range the large Galaxy Note smartphone, and Telstra is expected to follow suit soon.

The wireless carrier has already launched a LTE-capable smartphone in the country, and might soon greatly expand its 4G offering by making all of the aforementioned Samsung Android devices available for purchase at the same time. Rumor has it that this will happen in early March - if not late February –, so stay tuned for more on the matter.
