Galaxy has recently announced the introduction of a new GeForce graphics card, as part of its Low Power lineup. The new card is based on one of NVIDIA's 55nm GPUs, the GeForce 9800GT, coming to provide users with a mainstream performance solution that is capable of reducing the power consumption of the entire desktop PC. This feature has been enabled via the use of a 55nm G92 GPU and makes the latest Galaxy GeForce 9800GT card an ideal choice for Home Theater PC (HTPC) enthusiasts looking to upgrade their system's graphics.

According to the available specifications, the new Galaxy card is ready to deliver the performance that is enabled by a GPU clocked at 550MHz and which is coupled with a minimum of 512MB of graphics memory. For higher performance, the graphics card vendor offers a choice for 1GB of memory. Performance wise, the card's memory and Shader clock speeds have been set to 1375MHz and 1800MHz, respectively. Also, unlike basic GeForce 9800GT cards, this model doesn't require a 6-pin PCIe power connector.

As with most of the other NVIDIA-based graphics cards available on the market, the new Galaxy card comes with support for all those NVIDIA technologies we have grown to know. Such features include support for DirectX 10, CUDA, PhysX and SLI for multi-GPU graphics setup. In addition, the Galaxy-designed card also boasts D-Sub, DVI and HDMI outputs, offering a broader range of connectivity options.

Unfortunately, there's no word on the card's estimated date of release or pricing, for the time being. When it will become available, Galaxy will provide its customers with a choice for the card's cooling solution. Given its available technical details, we can easily say that this GeForce 9800GT from Galaxy can be a graphics upgrade choice for all those HTPC enthusiasts out there.
