Later this year, Samsung will make official a new device in its popular Galaxy Note series, one that should sport a larger screen than the previous members of the family, rumor has it.

Dubbed Galaxy Note III, the smartphone has yet to be officially confirmed, yet an allegedly leaked photo with it, in which it can be seen to the left (next to the Galaxy S 4), should come as proof that it is real.

Update: The phone in the photo is now said to be the ZOPO ZP950, a 5.7-inch Android smartphone, and not the Galaxy Note III. However, Samsung is still set to launch three flavors of the device, SamMobile reports.

Supposedly packing a 5.9-inch touchscreen display that can deliver a full HD resolution, the upcoming device has been long rumored to be set for an official unveiling at IFA 2013 in Berlin, but new reports on the matter claim that it will arrive sooner than that.

According to a recent article on mydrivers, the smartphone should become official sometime in mid-July, though the previously suggested late-August or early-September launch seems more realistic.

The upcoming device is also said to sport an Exynos 5410 Octa processor, with the A15 quad-core chip clocked in at 2.0GHz. The A7 CPU, however, will remain clocked at 1.2GHz.

The phone will be significantly larger than Galaxy Note II, though it will feature a design similar to that of Galaxy S 4.

Samsung is also rumored to plan packing no less than 3GB of RAM inside the Galaxy Note 3, which would certainly make it a more powerful device when compared to the currently available smartphones.

The hardware specifications list of this mobile phone is also said to include 32GB of internal memory, along with a microSD memory card slot for expansion purposes.

The Samsung Galaxy Note III should run under Google’s Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean operating system right from the start, most probably with Samsung’s own user interface loaded on top.

Unfortunately, it still remains to be seen how much of the above will pan out, since these are only rumored details, and should be taken with a grain of salt. Hopefully, Samsung will unveil something on the matter soon, so stay tuned for more on this.
