Next week should mark the official release of Samsung’s Galaxy Nexus smartphone on the airwaves of wireless carriers in Australia; yet, it seems that pricing war for it has already started.

Optus was already said to bring the mobile phone to its shelves for $0 upfront on the $79 Cap and Vodafone and Telstra are expected to offer specific info on their plans for the device only after the official launch. However, details on what Virgin has in store for users already emerged, courtesy of Ausdroid.

The wireless carrier is expected to make Galaxy Nexus available for $0 on the Fair Go plan, which offers $700 of calls and text, along with 3GB of data for a contract period of 24 months.

This makes the device quite appealing, and might determine other wireless carriers in the country to price it accordingly.
