Galaxy Nexus is the latest Android-based mobile phone that Samsung has made official, and also the first such device to arrive on shelves with the new Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system flavor, and it seems that it will soon make an appearance in Australia, in addition to arriving in other markets.

The upcoming smartphone was just spotted in Telstra's internal systems, which might suggest that the wireless carrier is set to make it available for purchase for its customers in the not-too-distant future.

However, nothing was officially confirmed on the matter, and chances are that, even if in Telstra's system, the smartphone will not make it to the carrier's shelves.

One way or the other, the Galaxy Nexus can be seen in the screenshot (via Gizmodo Australia) to the left, supposedly showing Telstra’s internal system (called Siebel).

Speculation on Galaxy Nexus' arrival in this country emerged even before the mobile phone was made official, since one of the models that received the necessary approvals from the various official entities out there was pointing at this.

We're referring here to the GT-i9250T phone model and its Wi-Fi certification, which showed that it will be released on the airwaves of wireless carriers with networks based on the 850MHz frequencies, including Telstra and Vodafone in Australia.

The Galaxy Nexus is one of the most advanced Android-based devices to land on shelves before the end of this year, and it is expected to provide a great experience to all those who will purchase it.

The handset packs a large 4.65-inch touchscreen display, a 1.2GHz dual-core application processor, along with 32GB of internal memory, without a memory card to expand it.

The handset also comes with a photo snapper capable of recording videos in HD, as well as with a front camera for video calling, and with expanded connectivity capabilities.
