Samsung’s new Galaxy Nexus smartphone has been available in the UK since a few weeks ago, and the handset is now present on the offering of more wireless carriers in the country, including Vodafone.

The latest Google phone out there was put up for sale at this wireless operator for free on monthly plans that start at £41 per month.

The carrier has already listed the new device on its website, so that those who would like to purchase it online would be able to do that.

For those out of the loop, we should note that Galaxy Nexus landed in the UK about two weeks ago, when various wireless carriers in the country ranged it, but not Vodafone.

The carrier said at the time that it was still testing the phone to make sure it was fit for its network. As it turns out, the device did have some glitches, one of which was related to its volume control.

However, it appears that these problems have been solved and that Galaxy Nexus was finally ready to hit Vodafone’s airwaves.

The new Google phone runs under the latest flavor of Android, namely 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, while packing cutting-edge technology inside.

“The GALAXY Nexus has a huge 4.65" HD screen – the first of its type on any smartphone. In fact, it gives you the same resolution as some laptop screens – which means you'll see bright, crisp images in vivid color when you buy a GALAXY Nexus deal,” Vodafone explains.

“The GALAXY Nexus is powered by Ice Cream Sandwich – Android's latest and most advanced operating system. It combines some of the best elements of the Android Gingerbread and Honeycomb platforms for tablets to give you a better experience – it's really easy to use with even more attractive visuals.

“Plus, the GALAXY Nexus lets you access it securely by recognizing your face – thanks to a clever feature called Face Unlock.”

The mobile phone also sports a 5-megapixel photo snapper on the back, with support for full HD video recording, as well as a front camera for video calling.

The handset comes with a dual-core 1.2GHz application processor inside, 16GB of internal memory, built in GPS receiver, 3G and WiFi connectivity, and more.
