Mobile phone users in Russia will soon be able to get a taste of the latest Google phone out there, the Samsung Galaxy Nexus.

Running under Google’s Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system, the mobile phone is just making its way to shelves around the world, and it seems that Russia will receive it before the end of the ongoing year.

Samsung has made official its intent to make the smartphone available for purchase in the country on December 23rd, and also announced the pre-order availability of the device.

The price tag for this Ice Cream Sandwich device has been set at 29,990 rubles (around $950 / 717 Euros), as long as users go for the 16GB flavor.

In addition to that, Samsung announces that the mobile phone is already available for pre-order via its website.

Those users who will reserve one unit before the device is put up for grabs will be receiving it on December 21st.

The specifications list for the Android 4.0 device remains unchanged from the International flavor that landed on the market back in mid-November.

Users will be able to take advantage of the same large 4.65-inch touchscreen Super AMOLED HD display (1280×720 pixels), as well as of the fast 1.2GHz application processor that Samsung has coupled with 1GB of RAM.

Moreover, the mobile phone arrives with a 5-megapixel photo snapper on the back, with support for HD video recording, as well as with a 1.3MP front camera for video calling.

The specs list for this device also includes Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n and Bluetooth connectivity capabilities, along with a 1750mAh battery that can deliver increased usage and standby time.

The Galaxy Nexus runs under the latest version of Android and offers support for the various services and applications that the Internet giant has out in place for users, including Search, Maps, Gmail, Google Talk, and the like.
