A practical remote control

Our parents were really lucky in some way. They only had to deal with two remote controls in the best case. The TV's and the VCR's. Nowadays, people have, besides TVs, DVD players, separate sound systems, digital TV boxes, Media Centers and sometimes more than that. The universal remote control idea isn't new, but the idea of one doing a good job is. You can find many types of universal remote controls, ones that sport huge LCD displays, others that are too big and complex and nice little B&W display equipped ones, like the one we are going to talk about.

Logitech's Harmony 525 Universal Remote attracts attention from the first time you see it. It is half silver, half black, with blue accents and includes an LCD display that has a blue backlight for better visibility in the dark.

The installation is made by using the Harmony online guide from where you can download the information the remote needs to know about your home devices. If you don't find them, you must teach the remote control via infrared how to interact with your devices.

After setting up Logitech's Harmony 525 Universal Remote, the controller is a breeze to use and probably many users will get attached to it especially that its price revolves around US$70.
