Gvoice, a Google Voice application, as its name suggests, has just been approved for the Windows Phone Marketplace, a few months after the first version of the software was submitted for approval, it seems.

Available for download as version 1.2 for all Windows Phone 7 devices out there, the application provides users with a series of appealing features, along with some fixes and improvements from the previous versions.

The release notes for the new application flavor would include: Switched to using the standard “tilt” animation found in Windows Phone lists. Voicemail playback highlights the transcript word by word, as seen in the Google Voice web interface. You no longer have to enter a number during login; instead, a list of all valid phones linked to the account is shown. Fixed issue with texts and voicemails being accidentally clicked too easily when scrolling. Added keyboard auto completion Outgoing calls now open a call screen Contact photo downloads are more reliable Progress indicator now has a textual description Google Voice can be dialed via the application menu Direct/PIN Dial is available via the settings menu Fixed conversation sort order

At the same time, the changelog for GVoice 1.2 for Windows Phone 7 shows that users would have the possibility to enjoy faster search, and that they would also have the Mark as Unread option available for messages.

In addition to having a call log available for them with the application, users would also be able to delete Search Conversations/Conversations, the release notes show.

As stated above, the application managed to become available for download in the Windows Phone Marketplace about two months after the initial submission. The software developer explains some of the issues it encountered here.

However, the GVoice app for Windwos Phone 7 is now live in the software portal, and those interested in giving it a try should head here to download it (via WPCentral).
