Coming to add to the large number of GTX 580-related news is Gelid which, although it has not actually released a new graphics card, announced a cooler capable of working on it.

For those interested in a reminder, NVIDIA recently launched the GeForce GTX 580 graphics card.

Essentially, this is the most powerful video controller on the consumer market right now, not just among NVIDIA's boards.

As one would expect, the company's various manufacturing partners have already shown off a slew of custom-made versions.

Now, Gelid has come to make its addition, although instead of yet another card, it has presented the second revision of the ICY VISION cooling module.

Composed of several sections, the cooler has a copper base, out of which heat is drawn away by five heatpipes.

The heatsink itself feature 85 aluminum fins, whereas the actual task of heat dispersion is entrusted to a pair of 92mm UV-reactive ball bearing (S-shaped) fans.

Said fans have a rotary speed of 2,000 RPM and a maximum sound output of 26 dBA.

All in all, the cooler measures 216 (L) x 95 (W) x 52 (H) mm and has a weight of 465 grams.

As already mentioned, it can be strapped onto the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 580, but its usability is definitely not restricted to just this one card.

In fact, it works on the GTX 480, GTX 470 and GTS 450 as well, plus even older cards form the GeForce line, such as GTX 300 and GeForce 9800.

What's at least as important is that even the AMD Radeon HD 4800 and HD 5800 series cards are supported, as are the new HD 6850 and 6870.

Basically, Gelid made sure that those enthusiasts in search of a cooler to replace the stock model will have at least this option, though they will have to part with $55 (46 Euro).
