Grand Theft Auto V, the open world title from developer Rockstar and publisher Take Two, has managed to retake the number one position in the United Kingdom from FIFA 14, the football simulation title from EA Sports.

GTA V was probably helped by the recently launched Online mode, designed to give players a chance to join 15 others in order to cooperate and compete in a city they can shape with their actions.

For the week that ended on October 12, FIFA 14 is down in second place and it will probably manage to regain number one once the big fall launch titles are all out.

Pokemon dominates the next two places in the United Kingdom chart, according to UKIE, with the X version of the game able to stay one position ahead of the Y, the first two new entries of the top ten.

Beyond: Two Souls, developed by Quantic Dream and published by Sony only on the PlayStation 3, sits in fifth place, which is an impressive performance given the cinematic nature of the experience.

Players were probably most drawn to the leading role given to Ellen Page and impressive motion capture system that is used to bring the experience to life.

F1 2013, the simulation from Codemasters, is in sixth place for the week, down three positions from the previous seven-day period, and Just Dance 2014 managed to actually gain two places in order to reach seventh.

Minecraft on the Xbox 360 is in eight place, losing three, while Disney Infinity, which combines virtual experience and real-world toys, is in ninth.

The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker from Nintendo closes down the United Kingdom top ten.

NBA 2K14, Pro Evolution Soccer 2014 and Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell: Blacklist are no longer featured in the chart.
