Take-Two has revealed that Grand Theft Auto Online will receive a lot of attention, as far as upcoming content is concerned.

Furthermore, it seems that Rockstar still intends to deliver some single-player DLC for Grand Theft Auto V, but for the time being, it's focusing on making stuff for those who enjoy partaking in some sweet multiplayer action.

The information comes from Take-Two's earnings call, during which Chief Executive Officer Strauss Zelnick has revealed that we could definitely expect additional content and updates for Grand Theft Auto Online.

Rockstar is hard at work on its production pipeline, but things are different for GTA V due to Grand Theft Auto Online being such a huge success, taking up a lot of the studio's resources.

It took a year for Heists to be released

The studio worked on Heists for a year, a GTA Online feature allowing players to group up and undertake complex criminal activities together, and launched them back in March.

Since then, Rockstar has kept adding more stuff to the experience, in order to make Heists as exciting and compelling as possible.

The developers mention that they are looking to developer some single-player content for GTA V, just like they did with GTA IV before it, but for the time being, they seem to be focusing on the very lucrative online facet.

GTA V will get story mode DLC, just not now

The studio mentioned story mode DLC as early as April 2014, on its own Rockstar Newswire, extending Michael, Franklin, and Trevor's crazy adventures in Southern San Andreas.

Grand Theft Auto IV got two such story mode expansions, The Lost and the Damned and The Ballad of Gay Tony, which many gamers regarded as even better than the base game and enjoyed immensely.

The community is definitely clamoring for more, but with GTA Online being such a lucrative venue, single-player content most likely holds a back seat in the studio's priority list.

The publisher has mentioned that Grand Theft Auto V has now shipped around 52 million copies worldwide, across the PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One and PC platforms, a significant bump from the 45 million revealed in February of this year.
