Skylanders Swap Force is the only new entry to perform well

Grand Theft Auto V, the open world title from developer Rockstar and publisher Take Two, continues to lead the United Kingdom video game chart, performing better than any other title of the year so far.

The experience has enough story hooks to keep gamers occupied in the long run and those who finish all the single-player heists are able to jump into GTA Online in order to participate in events with other gamers.

FIFA 14, the football sim from EA Sports, continues to stay in second place and looks poised to cement its long-term domination when the next-gen versions launch alongside the Xbox One from Microsoft and the PlayStation 4 from Sony.

The only new entry in the top ten is Skylanders Swap Force, the mix between virtual experience and real-world figurines from Activision, according to UKIE.

The new expansion introduces pieces that can be taken off the characters and mixed to create new powers and experiences.

Reports suggest that this year’s sales for the franchise have been lower than those seen for the Giants expansion that was delivered in 2012.

Pokemon X and its Y counterpart have dropped once position each to sit in fourth and fifth place for the week that ended on October 19.

Beyond: Two Souls, the narrative-driven experience from Quantic Dream and Sony, is in sixth place, which is a good performance for a title that’s just offered on the PlayStation 3.

The Xbox 360 version of Minecraft has managed to gain one position in order to reach seventh, while F1 2013 is in eight place.

Just Dance 2014 from Ubisoft has dropped two places to come in at ninth and Disney Infinity closes down the United Kingdom chart.

Sonic: Lost World, from SEGA, also launched during the previous week, but has failed to gain a place in the top ten.
