Guam, the island which US Congress representative Hank Johnson thought it would, one day, tip over, is getting the iPhone 4, according to an official report issued by GTA TeleGuam, the official wireless operator in the territory.

“GTA TeleGuam today announced it will launch iPhone 4 in Guam on September 24 with a range of service plans tailored for iPhone customers,” the carrier said in a report that hit the wires yesterday.

The press release includes Apple’s standard description for the handset, saying “iPhone 4 features FaceTime, which makes the dream of video calling a reality, and Apple’s stunning new Retina display, the highest resolution display ever built into a phone, resulting in super crisp text, images and video.”

The list goes on with GTA TeleGuam mentioning the 5 megapixel camera with LED flash, HD video recording, the A4 processor, the 3-axis gyro and up to 40 percent longer talk time, as well as the stunning new design.

"Customer response to iPhone in Guam has been overwhelming and we are confident the unique features of iPhone 4 will be received with great excitement by our customers," said Roland Certeza, executive vice president of sales for GTA TeleGuam.

"GTA customers will find it easy and affordable to enjoy the great new innovations of iPhone 4 with our range of plans and pricing," Certeza added.

For now, full pricing and availability details for iPhone 4 in Guam is not available, but the operator said they will be available soon. Those looking to “register interest” are encouraged to visit www.gta.net for details on how to do that.

Earlier today, Softpedia received a tip regarding the Romanian and Philippines launch of Apple’s iPhone 4.

The two territories are to receive iPhone 4 shipments on September 24. Other countries are said to be getting the new smartphone on the same day, including Malaysia, Israel, and Turkey.
