Joining and inviting friends are now known issues

Just like any other MMO game, GTA Online has its issues, which continue to affect it to the point that sometime it ruins players’ immersion.

Lots of issues have been fixed, but as Rockstar is trying to patch all the problems, new ones seem to appear. The last on the list of issues GTA Online developers need to address is related to joining and inviting friends.

So, if you try to join or invite a friend in GTA Online, you might get an error saying that “sending invites is disable until both you and this player have completed the GTA Online Tutorial.”

The problem is that you get this error even if you and your friend have already completed the tutorial. According to Rockstar, this is a known issue and they are already working to patch it.

This is only a temporary solution until Rockstar patches the issue

Until then, however, developers are offering GTA Online players a workaround that may allow them to invite or join a friend in the game. Here is what you have to do in order to avoid getting the above-mentioned error:

“Try getting in a Crew with your friends and getting together through the Crews / My Crews / Members option of the Online tab in the GTA Online Pause Menu. Alternatively, if you don’t want to make any changes to your Crews, you can join your friends via the Crews / Friends’ Crews option. Select your friend’s Crew and choose “View Members”. From there, choose your friend’s Gamertag or PSN ID and select “Join Game.”

Keep in mind that this is just a temporary solution, which should allow you to play with your friends until Rockstar fixes this issue.
