Gamers can get money, RP, items and special vanity plates

The development team at Rockstar has just announced the launch of the I'm Not a Hipster update for Grand Theft Auto Online title and the company is now saying that it is launching a special event associated with it that will occupy the entirety of the coming weekend.

Starting on Friday, June 20 all players will be able to take part in a series of in-game competitions and challenges that will give them a chance to pick up special rewards, including bonus GTA money and Reputation Points.

The official announcement from Rockstar states that, "Social Club members, collect three exclusive vintage t-shirt as seen in the flyer above that will only be available to redeem for one day each on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. As long as you play at some point during each of those three days, you'll then get to keep the tees in your inventory for good."

When the event playlist with the name I'm Not a Hipster is being used gamers will get double monetary rewards, which might come in handy for all those players who are looking to buy some new property or some new items to use.

Reputation Points in GTA Online are tripled for the weekend when the gamers chooses to play the new gang attacks introduced in the update and all the money in the crates are quadrupled.

At the same time the title offers double rewards for both headshots and for kill streaks in deathmatches.

Rockstar adds, "Risk showing everyone that you're actually trying and put your money where your mustache is by laying a bet on yourself or another player. The Max Bet limit for all Jobs will be raised to GTA$10,000."

GTA Online also has all new event crate drops that can include RPGs, sticky bombs, miniguns and more.

Keeping true to the tradition of events for the title Rockstar is also launching a new I'm Not a Hipster contest on Snapmatic, with the most creative, amusing and artful shots of the new content set to compete for a monetary 1 million GTA dollars prize and a special vanity license plate.

The developers are also planning to stream gameplay sessions all through the weekend in order to draw in as many fans who might have abandoned GTA Online since it was launched.

The company also recently announced that the Heists for the title were being delayed to a later date in 2014.
