It's a Spring 2008 title after all...sad but true

Everyone's excited and waiting for the latest GTA title to come, so we're bound to see a couple of extatic gamers increasing the hype by spreading rumors about an October release of the game. They must have checked out Sony UK's PlayStation website, where GTA IV is announced as a title that will be launched this month.... Well, it seems that we won't be seeing the game surfacing this year, as some jolly fellows over at Spong called Rockstar, that confirmed a Spring 2008 release.

Now back to crying in our pillows and waiting for Jack Thompson's next move and Rockstar's next trailer or even a demo. Initially the game was scheduled for a Fall 2007 release, but it got delayed, so many gamers got angry and frustrated, but kept their hopes up for a possible surprise launch. Such surprises are always possible, but never happen... Seeing a major game like GTA IV in stores this year is a phenomenon that would gladly join Santa, the Tooth Fairy and The Sandman on the list of surreal notions.

While many of us believe in Santa, few gamers have faith in an GTA IV October launch... I'm even paranoid enough to suspect that we'll see another delay. Just hope that this doesn't turn into a S.T.A.L.K.E.R affair or worse... a Duke Nukem Forever (that "forever" stands for the delay of the title's launch). Unlike previous occasions, now the producers finally have someone to blame... Why, of course it's the PS3 version of the game that always needs that little bit of extra work...

Got a really big title coming up and your game developers are stuck in the midst of their work? Blame it on the PS3.... It's cheap, but it works, directing the fans' hate towards poor Sony, instead of the developer.
