Peter Molyneaux's highly-anticipated project GODUS has just landed on Steam. 22 Cans, the company developing the game, announced early this month GODUS will be available for download via Steam beginning September 13.

As expected, this is not the final version of the game, instead 22 Cans offers players the possibility to play GODUS and get involve in the development.

GODUS is now offered through Valve's so-called “early access” program, which means the game will evolve as you play it, give feedback and as devs update and add content.

According to Molyneaux, “our reason for using early access is so that we can get as many of you to play the game and for us to learn from what you enjoy and hate. In that way over the coming months develop GODUS into a GREAT game, that is our passion!

We are continuing to work very hard and hope to have an update out as soon as possible. Thank you for your belief and patience.”

Keep in mind that when purchasing GODUS Beta in Early Access for €18,99 ($25), you will also receive any updates delivered by the devs, as well as the finished game, completely free.

The minimum requirements for running the game include: Windows XP, Intel Core 2.0 GHz CPU, 1 GB RAM, Geforce 210, DirectX version 9.0, 1 GB available space and a working broadband Internet connection.

For Mac users GODUS has been confirmed to run on the following minimum hardware and software configuration: OS 10.7.5 Lion, 2.2 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo CPU, 1 GB RAM, 1GB available space and broadband Internet connection.

Among the key beta features included in this version of the game, developers confirmed players will be able to sculpt the entire world to make it unique, build, alter and experiment in your Homeworld as you wish without fear of it being destroyed or damaged by other players.

In addition, players will be able to collect three types of cards that will allow them to level up an era and unlock features. More details on GODUS can be found on the game's store page via Steam.
