This release is part of GNOME 3.8 Release Candidate

The Release Candidate version of the upcoming GNOME Shell 3.8 is finally here, March 19, brought to you straight from the GNOME Labs, fixing the last remaining bugs and improving its performance even more.

GNOME Shell 3.8 RC drops the fallback lock implementation, the search results can now be scrolled if keyboard navigation is used, users can no longer trigger the message-tray when in full-screen, the shield is now raised when the user starts typing the password.

Moreover, users now have more time to read their messages from the login screen, workspaces created by DND are now animated in the workspace switcher, fullscreen windows now feature improved tracking, and the animation of new windows in overview mode has been improved.

Last but not least, the following translations have been updated in this development release of GNOME Shell 3.8: Chinese (Hong Kong), Chinese (Taiwan), Russian, Slovak, Finish, Serbian, Serbian Latin, Lithuanian, German, Czech, Belarusian, Uyghur, Kazakh, Catalan, Korean, Gujarati, and more.
