Geotag your pictures using the GISTEQ Photo Trackr

A while ago nobody thought that the geographical coordinates of a place you're taking pictures of could have any utility. And since Flickr had a brainstorm and associated maps with photos, everybody started talking about geo-tagging or GPS photo-tagging. Here it goes (and I'm referring to the Geo-photo-tagging yapping)!

GISTEQ GPS Photo Trackr could store the exact geographical coordinates of the place where you and your "lovr" took a picture. The GPS receiver is designed to work with "ALL" digital cameras (as long as you follow the instructions, of course). I meant to write "all" digital cameras, so there's no need to worry about all compatibility problems.

Here's how it works. First, you have to use the provided software to synchronize it with your digital camera clock. The software will then use timestamps embedded in your photographs to provide maps with geographically coordinated virtual push pins. You can also share your photos with family and friends using the included mapping software or the Flickr online service. You will also need the USB cable which is included in the package in order to retrieve the collected data. The device can record location info for a period of 3 to 4 weeks.

You can also take a look at the list of hardware specs:

-16 channels satellite tracking; -Superior sensitivity: -152dBm tracking -Update Rate: 1 Hz (max) -Built-in rechargeable 100mAh Li-ion battery -4MB flash memory for data logging -Dimension: 3.05 (L) x 1.82 (W) x 0.89 (H) inch -Weight: 68 g including battery -Chipset: Nemerix -Built-in low noise patch antenna

Geo-bloggers can buy the GISTEQ Photo Trackr for a cent short of $100.

We are just a few, but there are many of you, Softpedia users, out there. That's why we thought it would be a good idea to create an email address for you to help us a little in finding gadgets we missed. Interesting links are bound to be posted with recognition going mainly to those who submit. The address is .
