As the "Best Mobile Action Game"

Happy news for those behind Ojom, because at the 2007 German Developer Awards, the company took the winning price home. Well, I know many are wondering what is Ojom?

The Ojom GmbH company is a leading publisher of mobile entertainment products. This sounds big, but in fact, Ojom is the wholly-owned subsidiary of Jamba. Ojom has a varied portfolio that can be offered to any mobile operators and virtual retailers, or handset manufacturers in the world. The innovative, branded content makes Ojom one of the best names in the business. The company also has titles that have been published in more than 50 countries, through major mobile operators.

Now that everybody has this clear, we can move on and see what made Ojom so special. The German Developer Awards considered that the game adaptation of the animated series, "Starship Troopers - Roughnecks", made by Ojom was the "Best Mobile Action Game", in the People's Choice category. Before taking its prize home, Ojom was also nominated for the "Best Casual Game" in the same category.

The GDA is not at its first edition. Every year on the 12th of December in Essen, Germany, a jury of industry leading journalists, game consultants, leading game websites and even the gamers themselves give the prize for the best mobile games in the industry.

The "Starship Troopers - Roughnecks" game sets its play into an unknown alien world and makes the player fight against a huge army of titan-bugs. On top of that, the alien-bugs are extremely hostile and violent. I guess a bug spray won't help much in this case.

"Starship Troopers has been an incredibly popular game with our customers and Elocom did a great job developing the game. We are delighted to have been nominated and to receive such a prestigious award", declared Thomas Brockhage, General Manager of Ojom GmbH.
