The owners of a G1 mobile phone will be able to benefit from TeleNav's GPS navigation service starting with late February this year. According to the company, the service will become available on its site for the beginning, but it is expected to go to the Android Market as well in the near future. Currently, the service is available with a 30-day free unlimited use trial. At the end of the trial period, those who would like to continue using the GPS navigation service will have to pay a $10/month fee.

The software is able to deliver to users colorful 3D maps that are complemented by voice and on-screen turn-by-turn directions. The application also supports both portrait and landscape view modes, so that customers could use it the way it would best fit their handset's screen.

In addition to maps, the service is also able to deliver location-based weather data, and the application can even make automatic rerouting in case users decide all of a sudden to deviate from the path they chose before. Moreover, information on gas price listings, traffic alerts and more than 10 million points of interest are also present, as well as speech recognition for single button press address entry.

All in all, these are not the only features the new TeleNav's GPS navigation service is able to deliver to users. They are also enabled to make online preplanning through the TeleNav site. Through this interesting option, users will find out that a trip can start much easier and faster when everything has already been planned in front of the computer and not after getting into the car.

The GPS navigation service for G1 developed by TeleNav, a leader in cell phone GPS technology, is the first one in the world to come to Google's Android platform. The service is expected to become available on February 24.
